« back PEDIATRIC UNIT This is a 30-bed unit that provides comprehensive, quality, state-of-the-art inpatient care for acutely ill or injured children. Infants, children and adolescents up to the age of 17 are welcome. We strive to provide a child-friendly environment for healing and are committed to family-centered care. The unit will move to El Paso's first-ever separately licensed Children's Hospital when it opens in the spring of 2012 on the University Medical Center of El Paso campus. The Associates of the Pediatric Unit believe family involvement is essential in the care of each child. Parents provide the security of familiar love and attention while sharing special information and experience with their child. They can also interact with physicians, nurses and other members of the healthcare team and are encouraged to stay with their child throughout their child's hospitalization. |
